Rod Fergusson, head of the Diablo series, revealed in an interview earlier this month that future seasons will offer exclusive content to players who own the Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred expansion, the goal is to ensure that players who own Vessel of Hatred continue to feel value in the expansion.
In Diablo 4, each season is typically independent, and Seasonal Realm resets at the start of a new season, allowing players to experience the fun of creating a new character each time and continue to grow their power by participating in the latest season’s content.
New content or features introduced during a particular season may also be added to the Eternal Realm, allowing even players who are only active on non-seasonal characters to earn more rare items, Legendary gear, and more Diablo 4 Gold drops from this new content.
Future Seasons Will Offer More Unique Content For Vessel Of Hatred
Fergusson elaborated on how Vessel of Hatred was released in sync with the launch of Season 6 in order to allow players to start a whole new adventure with the newly introduced Spiritborn class. However, he also expressed concern that players might view this expansion as just a brief moment in the game’s development, especially when considering the additional content and changes that future seasons may bring.
To alleviate this concern, Fergusson explained, “We know that each new season is a fresh start for players, so we wanted to launch this expansion at the beginning of the new season.” He emphasized, “That’s why we launched Vessel of Hatred at the beginning of Season 6, so that players can experience the game by choosing Spiritborn as their new class.”
Fergusson further pointed out that although this expansion may seem like just a moment in the game’s timeline, it is actually much more than that. “I want to stress that this is not all. We will continue to develop some unique features and content for Vessel of Hatred owners.”
This means that players can expect to see more updates and improvements designed specifically for the expansion in the future, ensuring that its value does not diminish over time.
A series of seasons will precede each major expansion release for Diablo 4. Fergusson made it clear that the developers think of Diablo 4 as being divided into “chapters.” Season 1 to Vessel of Hatred is the first chapter of Diablo 4, while the subsequent “season 7 to the future” represents the second chapter of the game.
The “future” here is likely referring to the second expansion of the game. As you enter the second chapter, as a holder of Vessel of Hatred, you will enjoy the additional content in this chapter as part of your rights to own the expansion.
Therefore, Vessel of Hatred will continue to maintain its value and relevance even after Season 6. However, Fergusson did not elaborate on what exactly these unique seasonal features will include. But Vessel of Hatred itself contains many elements that can be further developed and expanded.
For example, it introduces customizable companions as Mercenaries. Runewords give players access to more character build customization options. In addition, there are two new dungeon play styles, Kurast Undercity and Dark Citadel, waiting for players to explore. These fresh additions provide players with a more diverse gaming experience and more ways to accumulate Diablo 4 Materials.
Diablo 4 Continues To Launch A Series Of Exciting Events In November
Diablo 4 is launching a series of promotions for the rest of November. Currently, the base game and Vessel of Hatred are on sale on Battle.net and Xbox. Starting from November 19, a series of free trials and character upgrade options are available. Players can choose a character in Eternal Realm and upgrade it directly to level 50 with a Welcome Back Booster.
In addition, players can choose a build equipped with a full set of Legendary gear for the upgraded class. Players who own Vessel of Hatred can choose two characters to upgrade. All Altars of Lilith will also be unlocked.
Players who don’t yet own Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred will try out Spiritborn class for free between November 19 and December 2. The base game will also be open to all players for free trials, both of which allow players to reach the level cap of 25. Behind this move, the development team wants to show the majority of gamers the major updates and improvements that have been made in the first 18 months since the game was released.
Fergusson explained that Diablo 4 has undergone many significant changes and developments in the past year and a half. But for players who only played the initial story and temporarily left, they may have missed this progress. The goal of boosters and free trials is to provide returning old players with a quick opportunity to get started in this way.
Through such activities, the developers hope to let everyone know how the game has developed and improved over time. Imagine that someone has prepared everything for you, so that you don’t need to spend a lot of time to obtain Diablo 4 items and can directly enjoy the fun of the game.
Overall, with the release of more content and expansion packs in the future, players can look forward to exploring more unknown secrets in this mysterious world.
